So yesterday I got back from The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios in Orlando Florida, and as some of you may know from my post ‘My Upcoming Trip to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter’ I was VERY EXCITED. It was so magical and perfect, it exceeded all my expectations and overall I had an amazing time.
Me and my dad (who I went with) went on all the Harry Potter rides 3 or more times each except for Flight of the Hippagriff (because the actual ride was so short and the line was always 45+ minutes long) and my favourite one was definitely Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey (which was the ride in the castle). I loved how while you were waiting in line for the rides it was still so entertaining, like in The Forbidden Journey ride you went through Hogwarts and saw all the moving paintings and the Gryffindor common room and Dumbledore’s office and the defence against the dark arts classroom, it was all so cool. The Forbidden Journey ride itself was awesome. I love roller coasters a lot but this one was like a roller coaster and simulation ride all at once, you flew around Hogwarts with Harry and Ron who were on broomsticks and you flew around the Quidditch pitch and it was really cool how they did that but also at one part you went into the forbidden forest and saw Aragog and all the spiders and came out of the whomping willow and it swung it’s arm at you and you were thrusted into the next part of the ride. Overall it was just awesome and I’m pretty sure me and my dad rode it 6 or 7 times over the course of the 3 days we were there, I just loved it to much. I also loved the Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts ride. The line up for this ride was also super cool you actually got to walk into Gringotts and they had the big chandeliers and the goblins (which moved!!) and it was awesome! The ride itself was AWESOME! It was 3D and at one point Bellatrix does and curses your cart and the tracks it’s on drops forward making you on a steep hill and you just drop, it is so fun. Also at one point trolls come and since its 3D it looks like they are grabbing your cart and they shake it and then throw you to the side, it was pretty cool. Each day we were there, my dad and I would get up early to go to the park for opening and them we’d go on The Forbidden Jounrey ride right away while the line was still short and then we’d go on the Dragon Challenge roller coaster a few times because the line was always 5-10 minutes in the morning. IT WAS AWESOME. In line it was like you were going through the tents of the Triwizard Champions and you saw the Goblet of Fire and the Triwizard Cup. You could choose to ride either the Chinese Firebolt or the Hungarian Horntail (my personal favourite was the Chinese Firebolt) and you could either go in any row, or wait in a separate line for the front. Let me tell you, it was definitely worth it to wait in line for the front. In the front you saw everything coming which made it even more exhilarating and the wind hit your face so are I had tears streaming out of my eyes, it was awesome. ( HAHAHAH I think I’ve said “It was awesome” 20+ time oops) We also went on some other non-Harry Potter rides like the huge Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket or whatever it was called (whic was so fun) and the E.T. ride (which was a nice relaxing-for-your-feet ride) and the Shrek 4D and Transformers ride and others as well. Universal does a very good job with their rides, especially adding the simulations and 3D stuff to make them not just rides or roller coasters but it’s like you are in the movie for whatever ride you are riding.
The Hogwarts Express:
Ahhhh finally I got to ride the Hogwarts express! It was like a ride but not really, more like an experience so I didn’t add it into the “rides” section. It also was different going both ways, going from Kings Cross to Hogwarts was different then coming from Hogwarts. To start of I WENT THROUGH PLATFORMS 9 AND 10 TO PLATFORM 9 3/4!!! My dad took a video while I went through, it was so cool and real. It was so awesome standing in line and seeing the Hogwarts express come into the station and getting on it and sitting it it. Also when you looked out the window you saw Mad Eye Moody waving to you as you left Kings Cross station and then you say London and then the countryside and then at the doors some dementors came!!! An then Harry came along and you saw his silhouette through the door and he cast his patronus to make them go away and the out the window again you saw Malfoy Manor and then finally Hogwarts! It was beautiful and as you pulled into Hogsmeade station Hagrid was ther waiting for you, on the back looking out the window was slightly different and no dementors came but Ron, Harry and Hermione passed by and Ron looked through the glass and said “Looks like a bunch of first years.” It was so funny. Also at one point the silhouette of the trolley lady passed by the door and she said “Aanything from the trolley dear?” I loved the Hogwarts Express and went on it many times, it was so amazing.
The Food/Drinks (aka BUTTERBEER):
SO I LOVED THE BUTTERBEER. I had a feeling I would because I love sweet things and caramel/ butterscotch and such. I tried bothe the normal butterbeer and also the frozen butterbeer (which was my favourite!!). I also got pumpkin juice which was very sweet, I didn’t love it as much as thebutterbeer but the bottle it came in was so cute!! If you bought water it also didn’t just come in a normal bottle, it was Gillywater. We ate at both The Leaky Cauldron and The Tree Broomsticks, both had very Harry Potterish food and it was delicious, if you are going to Universalsoon I definitely recommend that you eat at both of those places!
Walking into both Hogsmeade and Diagon Ally and seeing the castle for the first time was like 😍😭😱. Everything was absolutly perfect. Down to the last detail. I actually wish I could live there and never leave. It was so cool how as you came out of Kings Cross Diagon Ally was hidden and it was like you were in London. I also LOVED how they played Harry Potter music EVERYWHERE, it was perfect!!!! The people who worked there were awesome too, I bought and wore my Hufflepuff scarf everywhere and when a worker was a Hufflepuff as well they’d say something like “Ehhh Hufflepuff!” And give me and high five or something, it was so fun. Inside all the shops was amazing, especially Ollivanders and Weasleys Wizard Weezes and Quality Quidditch Supplies. Every the little touches like the dragon on top of Gringotts breathing fire and Kreacher would peak out of the window 12 Grimmauld Place. Also having The Knight Bus outside of Diagon Ally was cool, everything was just so well done. ANOTHER THING was I obviously got a wand, it chose me, and THE INTERACTIVE SPELLS ALL AROUND HOGSMEADE AND DIAGON ALLY WAS AWESOME!! I cast tons of spells, week because I’m actually a witch duh.
What I Bought:
I got my wand, a Hogwarts sweater with the crest on it (I wore it to school today!), a Hufflepuff scarf (my house!!), a mug to add to my slow growing bookish mug collection, also a love potion and fudge ( which I can’t remember the name of and I also can’t find it in my house, but it was from Weasleys Wizards Weezes) and 2 minion Funko pops for my little brother and sister and a mug that says “Mother of all things” on it with Thing One and Thing Two on it as well for my mom. My dad also got a Gryfindor tie. I already had Bretie Botts which my friend got for my when he went a few years back. I’m so hap with everyhing I got and I don’t have pictures of it all but here’s a few:
One really funny thing that happened was when we were buying some of the stuff there were two older ladies helping us check out and they were super nice and we were chatting about how much I loved it there and one of the ladies was saying how some people have weddings there and my dad said “Dont give her any ideas!” ( meaning me because I would be 100% okay with having my wedding there) And then when we were done checking out one of the ladies said bye and the other said “See you at your wedding?” Which I found so funny!
Overall I had such an amazing time! (I know I’ve said “amazing” too many times in this post!!) it was so magical and perfect and just what I imagined it to be! I will definitely go back in the future!! If any of you are debating on going to Universal or not PLEASE GO, if you are a die hard Harry Potter fan like me or not, the rides, food and overall experience is great, even if you aren’t obsessed. AND IF YOU DO LOVE HARRY POTTER AND HAVEN’T GONE YET… YOU MUST GOOOOOOO ITS AMAZING!!!
Anywhy, thanks for reading this post, I took like a hour and a half writing it because I really wanted to share with you all what I did on my trip, so I hope you enjoyed it! Have a good rest of your day!
